The place near the convergence of Qi-Mei Plain and Nan-Zi-Xian River in Kaohsiung County has long been well-known in Taiwan for its beautiful landscape of mountains and rivers as well as the elites born here. Aiming to incubate the excellent professionals balanced in both the technology potential and the humanity potential and to promote the social service, the he president of FIT, ex-legislator Dr.
Chuang-Jin Luo, established Fortune Junior College of Technology and Commerce on July 5th, 1989. This is the first junior college in the neighborhood of Qi-Mei area.
On August 1, 1999, Fortune Junior College of Technology and Commerce was agreed to upgrade to Fortune Institute of Technology, the golden school name-plate shining under the sun. Later, FIT expanded with the establishment of the Da-Fa campus and Da-Liao Campus, covering more than 19 hectares. In addition, the city campus was also established in Kaohsiung City to run the life-long extension education programs.
